KDE launches toolkit to help educators support LGBTQI+ youth

As part of its commitment to support the health and safety of all students, the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) has created a new webpage to house resources for educators seeking to support students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual, intersex, nonbinary and individuals who identify their sexual orientation or gender identity in other ways (LGBTQI+).

2022 Summer Food Service Program providing nutritious meals to students across Kentucky

During the summer months, the Summer Food Service Program, which is administered by the Kentucky Department of Education, will provide meals at no cost from June through August to children 18 and under who are from low-income families. The department partners with school districts and community organizations statewide to offer nutritious meals, recreational fun and educational activities while school is out of session.
