The Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE’s) Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council (SAC) heard about recent education-related legislation in Kentucky during their meeting on March 23.

Members of the Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE’s) Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council (SAC) agreed in a Feb. 23 virtual meeting that the effect of the pandemic will not easily be remedied by standard educational practices.

The Kentucky Department of Education’s Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council spent the majority of their Oct. 27 virtual meeting getting to know Thomas Woods-Tucker, KDE’s first chief equity officer and the new deputy commissioner of the Office of Teaching and Learning.

The Commissioner’s Student Advisory Council – comprised of 29 high school students throughout Kentucky – met virtually on July 29 to discuss concerns and hopes for the 2020-2021 school year. It was the first meeting for the 2020-2021 council.
