Beginning this week, Commissioner of Education Wayne Lewis will begin hosting meetings across the state to listen to feedback and recommendations on ways the Kentucky Department of Education and educator preparation programs can work together to strengthen educator preparation.
Kentucky’s Education Professional Standards Board voted unanimously Aug. 21 to approve a waiver that removes the requirement for teachers to move to Rank II – a move that will provide districts with greater flexibility and support in recruiting and retaining teachers.
