In order to encourage young artists to enter musical theater, the National Endowment for the Arts is expanding its Musical Theater Songwriting Challenge to a national program available to all high school songwriters working in any musical genre.

Richard Dodson, assistant professor at Murray State University, is conducting research on the effect No Child Left Behind (NCLB) has had on performing arts education in Kentucky schools since its enactment in January 2002.
